VP New Member Educator
From over 1,000 women who participate in New Member Recruitment at Texas A&M
University each year, about 50 will be chosen to represent the Lambda Xi Chapter
of Delta Zeta as New Members. The New Member Program gives New Members a foundation
for their involvement as a sister in Delta Zeta. New members learn the history
of Delta Zeta and their chapter; they study Delta Zeta values and principles,
and begin to establish bonds of lasting friendship with the entire chapter.
The ten week program “Becoming a Delta Zeta” focuses on the six
tenets of membership: sisterhood, scholarship, service, standards, self, and
social.
The New Member Education Program is a positive and exciting experience
for each New Member, paving the way for understanding of the ritual
and appreciation of the benefits of membership. New Members will
also have the chance to experience fun activities such as a New Member
retreat, a New Member Presentation, mixers, socials, and weekly sisterhood
events. These events will help establish bonds of lasting friendship
and sisterhood between the New Member Class and current sisters.
